Here are pictures from the protest held by hundreds of Shiite
Muslims who locked down the Federal Ministry of Justice as they rallied again
to demand the release of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, currently in the
custody of the Nigeria government.
The protest which happened last week Thursday, started from
the federal secretariat and ended at the ministry.
Some of the protesters were seen vandalising parts of the
Justice ministry building by spray-painting - as seen in the pictures.
According to the group’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Muhammad,
the action was taken since “our leader would not be released to us”.
Mr El-Zakzaky has remained in detention since he was arrested
in December 2015, following a clampdown on his members by soldiers.
