Fans, one can’t really say if Nigerians love the song or not. Well, our own Job

If there is an award for the most heavily hyped song of the Year,
I think this song, Summer Body by Olamide Featuring Davido
should win in that category.
I am double sure they started hyping the song even before writing it
The loud and well executed pre-released buzz created an impression that
the song will come out as the biggest hit of the year.
About a week ago, we made a post here on Naijaloaded asking for your
expectations as regards the much anticipated song, over 90 percent of
Naijaloadites, predicted that the song will be a bigger hit (SEE HERE). Shebi una don
hear am now, does it meet your expectattion?

Please read this review before you decide whether the song met your
expectation or not.
First, I’d like to welcome the idea of Olamide taking us back to
that old Nursery Rhyme, only some of us that are Yoruba with pako background
will understand the melody of “Pamuregeji”
back in the days. And that’s exactly why Pheelz, Mr. Producer deserves much
credit for that mid-tempo Afropop beat rich in accompaniment that will make
someone easily rock a babe with a good Summer Body.
However, this song is a true reflection of the fact that Olamide is
getting lyrically weak by the day. Aside from the part where he threw some
popular social media slangs, (“Lookatchu, Omo re bi custard, You’re not a
bastard“) and where he was pricing the girl (Elo ni jale, elo ni jale?
Money can’t buy love I just want appreciate am), the rest of his lines are
just too whack.
Meanwhile, If the song, Summer Body is going to get more
attention from Music lovers, then the whole credit has to go to Davido. Not
because he did any better with his lyrics, but because he made use of the
opportunity to fuel his enmity with StarBoy, Wizkid
by throwing shades at him on the song.

As if it’s a diss track, we all know the story of “pon pon pon“, Yankee
Passport, and Local artistes. Even when he tried to do the Nursery
rhyme proper, he still ended it with petty diss. “my
name my name my name, Omo Atlanta”, Why not “Omo Nigeria“? Infact,
it’s just too childish throwing shades at people on others songs, it doesn’t
make sense.
If I must drop a rating for this song, I will rate it 5 on the scale of 10 just because of those
girls flaunting their Summer Bodies in the video
